Region & Vicinity

The Hotel Linther Hof is located in Linthe, approx. 35 km south of Potsdam and 50 km south of Berlin not far from the A9 (Linthe motorway exit) between the Hohen Fläming and the Baruther Urstromtal.

Linthe probably came into being as a settlement or place after the year 1150. Linthe's first written mention dates back to 1342. The Fläming, which has always been a borderland and focal point of historical events, is also a “Burgenland”, so to speak.

Many of these buildings did not survive the military conflicts and the ravages of time. The remaining castles, fortresses and palaces in Fläming are well-preserved or reconstructed stone witnesses to the early Middle Ages. They are popular excursion destinations and record a constantly growing flow of visitors from all over the world. Particularly valuable are Eisenhardt Castle in Belzig, Rabenstein Fortress in Raben, Wiesenburg Castle and Ziesar Castle.
